Description
This 1974 vintage was bottled in 1995 at twenty years old to mark the quincentenary of Scotch whisky, the 500 years since the first recorded distilling in 1494, in association with Aberdeen University. Knockando, founded in 1898 in Speyside, is the heart of the J&B blend and bottles by vintage.
Now part of Diageo, Knockando makes a light, fine Speyside spirit. Matured in ex-Bourbon casks across twenty years, the wood deepened the malt.
Bottled at 43%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanillin for vanilla and oak lactones for coconut, with maltol for toffee over an aged depth. A commemorative vintage marking five centuries of Scotch.
