Signatory bottled this 10 year old 2011 Knockando for its Spirits of the Forest range from ex-Bourbon cask 306252, an outturn of 329 bottles for Germany. Knockando, founded in 1898 in Speyside, is the heart of the J&B blend.
Under Diageo today, the distillery makes a light, fine Speyside malt. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask over ten years, the wood frames the malt.
Bottled at its natural cask strength of 47%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanillin for vanilla and oak lactones for coconut. The recorded note is a coal-gas mineral edge over the soft Speyside malt. An independent Signatory single cask.
