Description
This 12 year old was distilled in 1999 and bottled in 2012, a vintage-dated core Knockando with Oloroso alongside the bourbon. The Speyside distillery, founded in 1898, is the heart of the J&B blend and dates each bottling by distillation year.
Today owned by Diageo, the distillery makes a soft, fine Speyside spirit. Matured in ex-Bourbon and Oloroso casks, the two woods give vanilla and a touch of dried fruit.
Bottled at 43%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla, the Oloroso dried fruit. The recorded notes run to fresh fruit, a leafy lift, a mossy edge, faint plastic and rubbery notes and a wisp of smoke from the lightly peated malt. A vintage-dated core Knockando.
