Description
This 12 year old was distilled in 1993 and bottled in 2005 for the Netherlands, a vintage-dated core Knockando. The Speyside distillery, founded in 1898, is the heart of the J&B blend and dates each bottling by distillation year.
Under Diageo today, the distillery makes a light, fine Speyside malt. Matured in ex-Bourbon, the wood shapes the malt over its twelve years.
Bottled at 43%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanillin for vanilla and oak lactones for coconut, with maltol for toffee. The recorded notes run to cooked fruit, fresh fruit and a faint smoky edge from the lightly peated malt. A vintage-dated core Knockando.
