This 12 year old was distilled in 1986 and bottled in 1998 to mark the centenary of Knockando, which was founded in 1898 in Speyside. The distillery is the heart of the J&B blend and dates its bottlings by distillation year.
Diageo-owned today, Knockando makes a soft, fine Speyside spirit. Matured in ex-Bourbon casks over twelve years, the oak frames the malt cleanly.
Bottled at 43%. The ex-Bourbon cask gives vanilla and coconut from vanillin and oak lactones, with a toffee edge. A commemorative vintage marking the distillery's hundredth year.
