This 5 Years Old is a single cask of Kingsbarns drawn from ex-Bourbon barrel 1620811, bottled undiluted at full strength. An outturn of 300 bottles for Germany. Kingsbarns is a young Lowland distillery near St Andrews in the East Neuk of Fife, founded in 2014.
Built in a restored 18th century farm steading near St Andrews, Kingsbarns runs long-necked stills for a light, fruity, unpeated spirit. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask, the oak frames the young Lowland spirit.
Bottled at its natural cask strength of 61.2%. Vanillin from the ex-Bourbon reads as vanilla, oak lactones as coconut, the full strength sharpening the distillery's bright, fruity character. A young single cask Kingsbarns.
