Description
This Kilchoman The Netherlands is a Small Batch Release No. 2 for the Dutch market, vatted from ex-Bourbon, Oloroso and Madeira casks. An outturn of 1,260 bottles. Kilchoman, founded by Anthony Wills in 2005, is the island's only farm distillery.
The distillery follows its barley from field to bottle on the one Islay farm. Matured across ex-Bourbon, Oloroso and Madeira casks, the Madeira adds a candied sweetness.
Bottled at 49.4%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla, the Oloroso dried fruit, the Madeira candied citrus, while peat phenols carry the smoke. The recorded notes run to a sherried character and smoke. A multi-cask small batch for the Netherlands.
