Description
This Awakening Series release is an 8 year old from 2017, an Oloroso single cask, number 17/642. An outturn of 316 bottles for Germany. Kilchoman, the island's only farm distillery, was founded by Anthony Wills in 2005.
The distillery malts its own barley and bottles on the farm, a barley to bottle approach. Matured in a single Oloroso cask over eight years, the sherry wood wraps the peated spirit in dark fruit.
Bottled at its natural cask strength of 57.6%. The Oloroso lends fig and raisin through its melanoidins, the peat phenols a smoky layer. A sherried single cask from the Awakening Series.
