Description
This Port Matured Single Cask is a 5 year old from 2014, fully matured in a single Port cask, number 470. An outturn of 296 bottles for the Netherlands. Kilchoman opened in 2005 as the first new Islay distillery in over a century, and is the island's only farm distillery.
The distillery malts on site and bottles on the farm, keeping the whole process in one place. Matured in a single Port cask, the wine wood adds plum and cherry to the young peated spirit.
Bottled at its natural cask strength of 58.5%. The Port gives plum and cherry with a jammy sweetness while peat phenols carry the smoke. A Port-matured single cask for the Netherlands.
