Description
This Poland Small Batch Release was made for the Polish market, vatted from ex-Bourbon, Sauternes and Oloroso casks. An outturn of 900 bottles. Kilchoman, founded by Anthony Wills in 2005, is Islay's only farm distillery.
The distillery malts its own barley and bottles on the farm. Matured across ex-Bourbon, Sauternes and Oloroso casks, the three woods layer vanilla, honeyed fruit and dried fruit.
Bottled at its natural cask strength of 47.6%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla, the Sauternes honeyed apricot, the Oloroso dried fruit, while peat phenols carry the smoke. The recorded notes run to a coal-gas edge, fresh oak, citrus, a cooked malt note, fresh fruit and a kippered note. A multi-cask small batch for Poland.
