Description
This D12 Exclusives release is an 8 year old from 2016, matured in ex-Bourbon and brandy wood, cask 788. An outturn of 239 bottles. Kilchoman, the island's only farm distillery, was founded by Anthony Wills in 2005.
The distillery malts its own barley and bottles on the farm. Matured in ex-Bourbon and brandy casks, the brandy wood adds a grape-led sweetness.
Bottled at its natural cask strength of 55.8%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla, the brandy a grape sweetness, while peat phenols carry the smoke. The recorded note is a coal-gas edge. A brandy-influenced single cask.
