Karukera is a Guadeloupe distillery known for its single-cane bottlings, working under the IGP rather than the Martinique AOC. This Four Daughters is a 2011 single cask aged six years, distilled from fresh-pressed sugar cane juice and finished in sherry, bottled at cask strength, 54.1%.

The sherry cask is expressive here, bringing dried fruit, cherry, dates and a roasted, cocoa-edged richness, while the underlying agricole keeps a grassy cane streak intact so the wood never fully takes over. The finish carries dried dates, sour cherry, cinnamon and barrel spice. At cask strength it has body and grip, a characterful crossover that should appeal to drinkers who enjoy sherry-finished whisky as much as agricole. Well balanced for sipping slowly or sharing, it shows what a single sherry cask does to Guadeloupe cane juice rum without erasing its origin.
