Description
Kanosuke 7 Years Old 2018 is a single cask single malt distilled at Kanosuke in 2018 and bottled in 2025 at cask strength for the German market. Seven years is the longest aged expression in this batch from Kanosuke, Komasa's coastal Kagoshima distillery, and at a site where the southern Japanese climate compresses maturation, the extra time in wood brings genuine complexity.
The cask is an Ex-Bourbon barrel, and while no specific flavour profile was provided for this bottling, seven years in bourbon wood under Kagoshima's humid coastal conditions typically builds deeper vanilla, dried fruit and a rounder, more integrated spice alongside the distillery's characteristic soft tropical fruitiness. The pot still new make at Kanosuke is known for its floral, light fruit character, and the longer Ex-Bourbon maturation rounds that into a richer, fuller expression. At 57% it is bottled at cask strength.
