Description
Kanosuke 4 Years Old 2018 is a single malt distilled at Kanosuke in 2018 and bottled in 2022 at cask strength for the Polish market. Kanosuke distillery sits on the Kagoshima coast in southern Kyushu, opened in 2017 by Komasa, and its warm, humid climate encourages faster maturation than Japan's cooler highland sites.
This expression matured in Ex-Bourbon casks, which in Kagoshima's heat yield a generous layer of vanilla and coconut softened by the bourbon wood's sweet grain character. The pot still distillate from Kanosuke tends towards light tropical fruit and fresh floral notes in the new make, and four years of bourbon wood has rounded those into the distillery's characteristic soft, approachable style. The cask strength bottling at 57% preserves the full weight and texture of the spirit.
