The expression comes from Kanosuke's Kagoshima distillery, where Komasa opened three pot stills on the coastal site in 2017, drawing on decades of experience in shochu production to inform the approach to fermentation and distillation.
Matured in Ex-Bourbon casks over three years in Kagoshima's warm, humid climate, the spirit carries the light tropical fruit and vanilla softness that is characteristic of the distillery's bourbon-matured releases.
