Josep Foraster Blanc Selecció 2024

Josep Foraster Blanc Selecció comes from Mas Foraster, a family winery founded in 1998 at Montblanc in the D.O. Conca de Barberà. The vineyards sit between 370 and 500 metres on sun-facing slopes, alongside olive trees, and are farmed organically with all the fruit coming from the estate. The blend is Garnacha Blanca, Macabeo and Chardonnay. Altitude is central to the style here: warm Mediterranean days ripen the fruit while cool nights slow sugar accumulation and hold acidity, giving a wine that is ripe but fresh. Garnacha Blanca lends body and orchard fruit, Macabeo adds floral lift and a light, mineral frame, and Chardonnay brings weight and stone fruit. Six months in French oak, with time on the fine lees, softens the wine and adds a creamy texture and a faint nutty, vanilla edge without masking the fruit. Expect a pale gold colour, a nose of white peach, pear and white flowers, and a rounded palate with lemon, almond and a touch of honey. Serve at 10 to 12 degrees.
