Description
This is the 1800 Silver blanco from Jose Cuervo, a 100 percent blue agave tequila produced at La Rojeña in the town of Tequila, the oldest active distillery in the category. The bottle belongs to the brand's Essential Artists series and carries one of six original Keith Haring designs, giving the late pop artist's work a new surface while the liquid inside stays the standard unaged 1800.
Distilled twice from Blue Weber agave and bottled unaged at 40 percent, it shows the clearest read of the spirit, with cooked agave at the core and a pleasant peppery lift across a round palate. The finish runs long and clean. As a blanco it sees no cask, so the character comes straight from the agave, the cook and the still rather than from wood.
