Description
Jodhpur borrows the name of Rajasthan's blue city and a memory of the spice routes, but it is built to the strict letter of London Dry, no sweeteners, only natural botanicals. Thirteen are chosen here, among them angelica root, liquorice, coriander, juniper and warming exotics like ginger and cinnamon, then taken four times through traditional copper stills for clarity. At 43% it carries its spices with conviction while staying soft in the mouth. It took Gold at the 2011 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
The nose is juniper-led with citrus freshness, floral notes and a hint of coriander and exotic spice. The palate is dry and spicy, citrus and juniper interwoven with ginger and mild herbs, ending clear, dry and delicately peppery. Pour it with a dry Indian tonic and a slice of fresh ginger.
