Darjeeling tea runs through this from first sip, tannic and elegant, lifted by mint, cardamom and bright citrus peel. Made in small batches in India with single-estate FTGFOP1 leaf from the Jungpana plantation, it folds in clove, ginger and coriander too. Soft-textured, spiced and floral, with a long tea-stained finish.
Description
Jin Jiji takes its name from the Hindi jijivisha, an irrepressible lust for life, and that joy shows in the detail of the build. Made in small batches by Peak Spirits in India, this Darjeeling expression leans on the country's most celebrated tea, using only single-estate leaf of the top FTGFOP1 grade from the renowned Jungpana plantation. Juniper, cardamom, clove, ginger, coriander and fresh citrus peel surround it, with cashew, angelica and orris root smoothing the edges.
The nose carries juniper, cool mint and unmistakable tea. The palate is layered with spice, herbs, that Darjeeling tannin and a citrus brightness, the texture kept soft and floral by the nuts and roots. It finishes long. Serve it tall with tonic and a long curl of orange peel, letting the tea note hum beneath, or stir it into a spiced Negroni.
