Jack's Pirate A Dogs Tale Vol. 1 JW (Jack Wiebers Whisky World) is a blended malt Scotch from Jack Wiebers Whisky World. It marries single malts from more than one distillery, Caol Ila among them. The clean, lemony smoke has made it a favourite of blenders for generations.

Caol Ila's elegant smoke gives the blend its coastal, citrus edge. A refill hogshead held it quietly, the spirit left to lead. The medium peating leaves a smoke that is firm but never heavy. Refill oak lets the maritime peat and lemon of the spirit lead the way. Olive oil and lemon sit at the heart of the Caol Ila character. The clean spirit shows the cask clearly, which is why it suits so many wood types. Time in oak deepens the oily body while the maritime smoke stays bright. The lighter style means the cask and the citrus speak alongside the peat. Cool, damp warehousing slows the loss of the angel's share over the years.

At a hearty 55.3% it carries real weight. A coastal peat smoke runs through it, with lemon, brine and a soft oil over a sweet fruit. Smoked lemon and sea salt build over an oily body. The finish is long, smoky and citrussy. A characterful smoky blended malt Scotch.
