Description
This 45 year old 1973 is a sister single cask to the distillery's other 1973 vintage releases, giving 84 bottles at 42%. Distilled a decade after the 1963 revival, it is among the oldest expressions Jura has ever offered.
Jura is the lone distillery on its remote Hebridean island, its light, clean spirit able to endure 45 years in oak. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask across that long span.
Bottled at 42%. American oak from the ex-Bourbon barrel gives vanilla and coconut, with maltol lending toffee. Four and a half decades have layered waxy honey and polished oak. A rare early-revival vintage Jura.
