Description
Seven Wood is Isle of Jura's multi-cask flagship, the island malt matured across seven different wood types, including a run of French oak casks. The only distillery on the remote island of Jura was rebuilt in 1963, its tall stills set up for a light spirit.
The distillery's clean make carries a complex vatting well. Matured across seven cask types with French oak among them, the woods layer vanilla, spice and fruit into the malt.
Bottled at 42%. The ex-Bourbon and French oak give vanilla and a spicy, toasted note, the varied woods adding depth. The recorded notes run to fresh oak, seasoned oak, fresh fruit, vanilla, chocolate and a toasted edge. A complex, multi-wood island malt.
