Description
The Rare Vintage 30 year old was distilled in 1993 and matured in ex-Bourbon and Cabernet Sauvignon casks, bottled at a cask strength 49.2%. An outturn of 1,300 bottles for travel retail, a sibling to the 27 year old from the same vintage taken three years further. On an island of some 200 people and 6,000 deer, Jura's single distillery was rebuilt in 1963.
Rebuilt in 1963 for a light, clean spirit, the distillery takes a wine cask well. Matured in ex-Bourbon and Cabernet Sauvignon casks across 30 years, the wine wood deepens the fruit.
Bottled at its natural cask strength of 49.2%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla while the Cabernet Sauvignon adds dark berry and plum with a drying grip. Deep, wine-influenced and mellow, with three decades behind it. A wine-matured old vintage Jura.
