Description
The Stillman's Dram was Isle of Jura's older prestige line, and this 26 year old is among the scarcest of the core releases. Jura sits alone on a remote Inner Hebridean island of 200 people and 6,000 deer, its distillery rebuilt in 1963 to keep the island alive.
Designed for a light, Highland-style spirit, Jura runs very tall stills, the clean make rewarding long maturation. Matured in ex-Bourbon oak across twenty-six years, the wood slowly builds depth on the honeyed spirit.
Bottled at 45%. American oak from the ex-Bourbon barrel gives vanilla and coconut, with maltol lending toffee. Long years have layered waxy, honeyed fruit over polished oak. A rare older Jura at the top of the range.
