Brothers in Malt bottled this 22 year old 1994 Isle of Jura from ex-Bourbon single cask 798. A long-matured single cask released for Italy. Jura's single distillery, rebuilt in 1963, was designed to make a softer malt than its Islay neighbours.
The distillery's light, clean spirit rewards two decades in oak. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask, the wood deepens the honeyed malt.
Bottled at its natural cask strength of 53.6%. Vanillin from the ex-Bourbon oak reads as vanilla, oak lactones as coconut, and maltol adds toffee. Two decades have layered waxy, honeyed fruit over polished oak. A long-matured independent single cask Jura.
