Description
Brave New Spirits bottled this 11 year old 2011 Isle of Jura as Antlers on the Sound, a nod to the island's deer, matured in a Vin Doux Naturel cask. An outturn of 333 bottles for Germany. Off the west coast and a short hop from Islay, Jura runs the one distillery on the island, rebuilt in 1963.
The distillery's light, clean spirit takes a sweet fortified wine cask well. Matured in a Vin Doux Naturel cask, the wood adds a candied, raisined sweetness to the young malt.
Bottled at its natural cask strength of 53.9%. The Vin Doux Naturel wood gives candied red fruit and a raisined sweetness over the honeyed malt. Sweet and full at cask strength. A deer-themed fortified-wine single cask Jura.
