Description
Anam na h-Alba, the Soul of Scotland, bottled this 10 year old 2009 Isle of Jura from ex-Bourbon single cask 700992. An outturn of 319 bottles for Germany, a vivid young single cask at full strength. There is a single distillery on Jura, rebuilt in 1963 across the water from the peat of Islay.
The distillery's light, clean spirit shows brightly from a single cask. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask across ten years, the wood frames the young malt.
Bottled at its natural cask strength of 57.5%. Vanillin from the ex-Bourbon oak reads as vanilla, oak lactones as coconut. The full strength lifts the honeyed, maritime character. A vivid young single cask from a continental bottler.
