Isautier Secret de canne

Isautier is one of Reunion's oldest distilleries, and this Secret de Canne is an agricole-style rum from fresh-pressed sugar-cane juice, distilled on a column still and bottled at 40%. Reunion sits outside the Martinique AOC, so this is agricole in feedstock rather than a protected agricole, presented as a straightforward island cane-juice rum.

The profile is simple and direct: the nose shows a clear agricole grassiness with fruity freshness, and the palate stays fruity and agricole with a woody edge from a light cask influence. It reads as a basic, everyday cane-juice rum rather than a deep sipper, with one taster likening it to a lighter, cheaper take on a Martinique blanc.
