Isautier Le Blanc Rhum Création

Isautier is one of Reunion's long-standing distilleries, and this Le Blanc Creation is a traditional white made from molasses rather than fresh cane juice, so despite the island's agricole reputation it sits on the molasses side of the family. That base gives it a rounder, softer shape than a grassy cane-juice blanc.

The profile is gentle and nutty: almond and cashew lead on a fresh, light nose, the palate stays oily and soft with the same nutty thread, and the finish lifts with white pepper, citrus and a faint sugarcane note. At an easygoing 42 percent it is built for mixing and approachable drinking rather than intense sipping, a clean and unfussy white that slides into a daiquiri or a long rum-and-soda without demanding much attention.
