A 33 year old Cuvee Prestige from Isautier on Reunion, a long-aged island rum matured in ex-bourbon oak and bottled at 44.5%, drawn from one of the island’s oldest distilling houses.
Description
Isautier Cuvee Prestige is a 33 year old rum from Isautier, among the oldest rum houses on Reunion in the Indian Ocean. As a flagship aged release it represents some of the distillery's most mature stock.
Reunion sits outside any agricole AOC, and Isautier works in several traditions, so this is best read simply as a long-aged island rum rather than assigned a firm feedstock. Matured in ex-bourbon casks and bottled at 44.5%, a rum of this age typically carries deep vanilla, baking spice, cocoa, leather and well-integrated oak. With three decades behind it, the wood would be a defining influence, giving a rounded, contemplative pour.
