Description
Insolito Tequila Anejo is a 100% agave anejo tequila built from a blend of Jalisco agave drawn roughly 80 percent from the lowlands and 20 percent from the highlands, so it carries both the lowland's earthier, peppery side and the highland's sweeter, citrus lift. The dual sourcing is the identity here, aiming for a well structured anejo that balances the two terroirs rather than leaning on one.
The tequila is aged between eighteen and twenty four months in new American oak, which gives it a silky body and a sweetness drawn from the fresh barrels. The new wood pushes aromas of chocolate, nuts and dried fruit alongside cherry, oak and pepper, while the palate stays creamy, sweet and fairly complex, with cooked agave threading through a balanced whole. Bottled at 40% and made for slow sipping.
