The Vintage Malt Whisky Company's Cooper's Choice carries this Inchfad, Loch Lomond's heavily peated island malt, a 15 year old from 2005 drawn from cask 435.
Fifteen years in ex-Bourbon soften the bold peat, the bourbon oak lending a vanilla counter to the smoke.
At 51.5% it shows a coal-gas edge, leather, an oily texture, old wood and tobacco over the wood smoke, the peat phenols carrying the reek. A mature peated Inchfad.
