HSE Parcellaire #1 Canne d‘Or 2016

This Parcellaire No. 1 Canne d'Or is a single plot HSE, distilled at Distillerie du Simon in Martinique from fresh pressed sugar cane grown on one named parcel, a terroir focused vieux from a 2016 vintage. Six years old and bottled unsweetened at 45%, it falls under the Martinique AOC and is pitched as a flavourful but approachable pour.

The creole column distillation keeps the cane character clear, and ex bourbon oak adds gentle structure rather than heavy wood. Expect fresh sugar cane, orange peel and young oak on the nose, with vanilla, spice and blond tobacco joining the cane on the palate, all lifted by floral, herbal notes. The finish stays vanilla and grass led. There is genuine depth and dry elegance here for the price, without cask strength intensity, making it a standout value sipper and an excellent Ti' Punch base.
