Hödl Hof Original Weichsel Fruchtsaftlikör

A sour cherry fruit juice liqueur from Hodl Hof in Austria, made from selected ripe sour cherries on a mild liqueur base, with a high fruit content that brings genuine sour cherry character to the glass. The fruit juice style keeps the natural sweetness and acidity of the cherry to the fore, which is its trade angle: real fruit rather than flavouring. At 20% it sits in the fruit liqueur range, balanced for sipping and mixing alike.

The nose is intense sour cherry with a fine balance of sweetness and freshness, the palate fruity and full bodied with a natural sour cherry note, gentle sweetness and light acidity, finishing soft, long and fruity with a fine almond flavour. In a drink it adds sour cherry fruit, colour and a useful acidity that balances sweetness, so it refines a sour cherry spritz with sparkling wine, a fruity tonic long drink or a cherry sour. It also pours neat, slightly chilled or over ice. Serve cold to sharpen the cherry.
