HimPerle Frizzante

HimPerle is a Styrian fruit Frizzante made entirely from regional raspberries rather than grapes. The berries are grown in Puch near Weiz and harvested from June through October, then processed carefully to keep their natural sweetness and lively acidity in the finished wine. At a light 8% alcohol it is a gentle, lightly sparkling drink, good on its own or as the base for a summer aperitif, with the fine bead lifting the fresh raspberry fruit. It sits off dry, the natural fruit sweetness balanced by the acidity of the berries.

The colour is a bright raspberry pink with a fine bead. The nose is full of ripe raspberry, with a light floral lift and a hint of citrus. The palate balances fresh fruit, gentle acidity and a fine sweetness, and the finish is light, refreshing and long on raspberry. Serve well chilled at 6 to 8 degrees. It makes a good aperitif and suits light desserts, fruit sorbets, fine pastries and milder cheeses, and can add a fruity note to cocktails.
