Description
Herradura Tequila Añejo is a Blue Weber agave Añejo from Casa Herradura, NOM 1119, at the Hacienda San José del Refugio in Amatitán in the Valles lowlands of Jalisco. Made since the nineteenth century and now part of Brown Forman, Herradura is the oldest continuously operating lowland distillery and is credited with creating the Reposado style.
The house works with estate grown agave, stone ovens, a roller mill, natural fermentation and copper pot distillation, then ages this expression in oak to its Añejo class. The result is a balanced aged tequila showing toasted oak, full vanilla and fruit, with a creamy, lightly oily mouthfeel and a soft, smooth finish. Bottled at 40%, it is a classic lowland Añejo built for drinking neat.
