A five year old molasses Demerara from Germany’s Heimat Distillers under their Ramero Cigar label, drawn across pot and column stills, soft at 46 percent with caramel, chocolate, coffee and honey over a sweet, vanilla-led finish.
Description
This Ramero Cigar Rum is a five year old Guyanese sourced rum bottled by Heimat Distillers in Germany, made from molasses and combining pot and column still distillate at an easy 46 percent. It is pitched as a relaxed after-dinner style to pair with a cigar, and sits at the softer, more dessert-leaning end of the Demerara spectrum rather than the raw heritage-still register.
Maturation in ex-bourbon wood, drawn from several barrels, gives a warm sweet profile of caramel, chocolate and coffee with honey on the nose, the palate echoing caramel and chocolate over light spice, and a sweet finish of vanilla, citrus and chocolate. The multi-cask marriage smooths the edges into an approachable, gently sweet pour. At 46 percent it stays mellow and uncomplicated, a comfortable everyday Guyanese rum built more for ease than for still-driven intensity.
