Hee Joy Origins

Hee Joy Origins is a blended molasses rum gathered from several origins and aged five years, with a finishing period in Cognac casks that leaves a clear stamp on the spirit. It is bottled at a soft 40% and aims squarely at the rounded, gourmand side of the category.

The Cognac influence shows from the first nosing, dried fruit and a brandy-like fragrance layered over brown sugar and fruit. The palate is sweet and easy, brown sugar, honey and molasses giving way to chocolate, fruit and a gentle barrel spice on the close. This is an unashamedly smooth, dessert-leaning style rather than a powerful or funky one, and at 40% it stays mellow and reduced, comfortable territory for drinkers who like their rum soft, sweet and fruit-forward after dinner.
