A 2007-vintage sixteen-year-old Cuban ron from Havana Club, bottled at a soft 38%, aromatic and savoury with roasted nuts, tobacco, coffee and banana over an elegant, light Cuban frame.
Description
Havana Club Ron Vintage 2007 is a Cuban ron from a single 2007 vintage, bottled at sixteen years in the island's elegant ron ligero tradition. Even at a low 38% it stays surprisingly expressive, a reminder that the Cuban style trades on finesse and aromatic lift rather than weight or strength.
Matured in ex-bourbon oak, it shows the light, refined Cuban character developed with age. The nose is savoury and inviting with roasted nuts, tobacco, coffee and vanilla, the palate is fuller than the proof suggests with roasted nuts, banana and tobacco, and the finish carries nuts, tobacco and milk chocolate. The gentle strength makes it soft and easy while keeping the savoury layers intact. It is a relaxed, aromatic after-dinner pour that pairs naturally with a mild cigar, an understated and refined expression rather than a bold one.
