This Hampden was bottled by Spirit of Rum for the Rumclub Private Selection line, a single cask from the LROK marque, distilled in 2000 and bottled at twenty-one years old. Hampden is the reference point for high-ester funk, and LROK is a medium-high-ester profile; given two decades in wood and a moderate bottling strength, this reads as an older, more relaxed version of the house style.

Distilled on the double-retort pot stills from molasses and matured in ex-bourbon oak, the long ageing softens the solvent edges and folds in deeper wood. The nose is pineapple, ester and a fermented, tropical lift; the palate carries banana cream and pineapple alongside smoked and roasted wood, chocolate and herbs, closing woody, roasted and fruity. Unsweetened and bottled at a comfortable 50%, it keeps clear funk and fruit while staying easy to drink, making it a rounded, mature Hampden for explorers who want character without full cask-strength intensity.
