Eighteen years in Ex-Bourbon casks build vanilla and wood spice around the distillery's characteristic green apple, cut grass and herbal notes. In the house style, a gentle peat thread and bonfire smoke add complexity without dominating, and the finish carries the clean, mossy and lightly mineral quality that distinguishes this Yamanashi distillery's output at 43%.
