Hakushu 18 Years Old Cask Strength 2024 is a single malt from Suntory's forest distillery in Yamanashi Prefecture, the most recent globally released edition of the undiluted 18 Years Old. Bottled at 48% directly from Ex-Bourbon casks, it presents the mature spirit at a higher intensity than the standard 43% release.
The distillery's signature fresh, green and herbal character is amplified at cask strength, with the bourbon wood's vanilla and soft spice providing a fuller frame. In the house style, a gentle peat thread and green apple note are typical of Hakushu at this age, and the higher ABV adds a richer texture and a longer, more mineral finish than the diluted expression.
