Description
Hakushu 12 Years Old is a single malt from Suntory's highland forest distillery in Yamanashi Prefecture, established in 1973 at the foot of the Southern Japanese Alps near Hokuto. Sourced from the distillery's own bottling programme for the global market, it is one of the core expressions in the Hakushu range and captures the distillery's signature fresh, leafy character.
Matured in Ex-Bourbon casks, the wood lends vanilla and soft coconut sweetness that frames Hakushu's typical cut grass, green apple and mint character. New wood and a greenhouse herbaceousness carry through to a finish touched by light chocolate and hay, gentle and cleanly integrated at 43%.
