Dark berry fruit and ripe sloes lead, threaded with juniper, gentle spice and a marzipan whisper of almond. Hand-picked Alpine sloes are macerated for months in the distillery’s own premium gin at Salzburg’s oldest private still. Soft, lightly tart and quietly festive, with a long, smooth close.

Description
Brennerei Guglhof is the oldest private distillery in Salzburg, and its Sloe Gin Alpin starts with hand-picked sloes steeped for several months in their own premium gin. That long, patient maceration draws the deep colour and the dark-berry sweetness from the fruit while the gin underneath keeps its juniper and herbal backbone. The Alpine setting lends a clean, pure edge that lifts the whole thing above the usual sloe gin, balancing natural sweetness against a fine, fruity acidity.
The nose offers ripe sloes, juniper and a nutty hint of almond. The palate is mild and full-bodied, dark berries and gentle spice wrapped in a pleasant sweetness, and the finish runs long and smooth with a slightly tart almond note. Serve it as a digestif over ice, top it with a dry tonic, or stir it into a Sloe Gin Fizz when the evening calls for something fruit-led.
