Description
Grosset Wines is among the most respected producers in the Clare Valley, in South Australia, and this Springvale bottling is a single-region dry Riesling farmed organically and made without oak. The Clare Valley sits at altitude, and while the days are warm, cool nights and elevation preserve the natural acidity and aromatic lift that define its Rieslings. The wine is fermented and raised in stainless steel to keep the fruit clean and the style precise. With no oak and no malolactic softening, the focus falls entirely on the grape and site, giving a bone-dry wine with a firm acid line and a stony minerality drawn from the slate and quartz soils. The colour is pale straw with green tints. The nose is bright and floral, with lime, lemon, green apple and white flowers over a chalky, mineral note. The palate is taut and dry, the acidity fresh and lifted, closing on a long saline, citrus-pith finish. It will age well for years, deepening towards toast and lime marmalade. Serve well chilled at around 8C.

Additional information
Its bright acidity and citrus make it ideal with oysters, grilled white fish and other fresh seafood. The dry, aromatic style also handles mild spice such as Thai salads or tandoori, and works with fresh goat cheese.
