Juvé & Camps blends Muscat and Gewürztraminer for this aromatic Penedès white. A short cold soak and a cool steel fermentation keep the perfume intact, giving rose, white peach and elderflower over a dry, gently fruity palate.

Description
Gregal d'Espiells comes from Juvé & Camps in the D.O. Penedès in Catalonia, a blend of the two most aromatic white grapes in the region's repertoire, Muscat and Gewürztraminer. Both are prized for scent rather than structure, and the winemaking is built to protect that. Fruit is picked and moved quickly to the cellar, sorted, then cold macerated on skins for six to ten hours to draw out aromatic compounds before pressing. Fermentation follows in temperature-controlled stainless steel to lock in freshness, and the wine is bottled young with no ageing so the perfume stays vivid. At 12.5 percent it stays light on its feet. The colour is pale with straw glints. The nose is openly floral, with rose and white flowers from the Gewürztraminer and grapey Muscat lift, backed by white peach, melon and elderflower. The palate is dry to just off-dry, soft and fruity, with enough acidity to finish clean. Serve chilled at 8 to 10 degrees as an aperitif or with food.
