Description
Graf Ledoff is produced by Tatspirtprom in the established Eastern European tradition, aimed squarely at clarity and value rather than display. The spirit is distilled several times and carefully blended with high-purity water, a process geared toward stripping the alcohol back to a clean, neutral base at 40% by volume. There is no exotic grain story or boutique filtration here; the point is consistency and a mild, straightforward character that works equally well at home and behind a busy bar.
The nose is neutral and clean with a light cereal note. The palate is mild and balanced with a subtle softness and barely-there sweetness, and the finish is short to medium, clean and with minimal sharpness. Because it brings so little of its own and steps aside readily, it is the right pour for a Bloody Mary: 50ml stirred into tomato juice with lemon, Worcestershire, Tabasco and plenty of black pepper, where you want a clean alcoholic lift behind the seasoning and nothing competing with it.
