Dried mango and a soft lactic note of yogurt lead into cooked agave, leather and gentle smoke in this seasonal Espadin from Gracias a Dios, redistilled with coastal Oaxacan mango between its two passes through copper.

Description
Gracias a Dios Mango is a destilado con mezcal from the Santiago Matatlan house of maestro mezcalero Oscar Hernandez. Its base is estate grown Espadin, redistilled with ripe mango grown on the Oaxacan coast and added between the first and second distillation. Because the fruit follows the late spring and early summer harvest, each release is small and seasonal, a joven flavoured by the orchard rather than by wood.
The agave is pit roasted and twice distilled in copper, with the mango infusing the spirit during the second run. The result keeps the smoky, savoury backbone of artesanal Espadin while adding fruit. The nose leans on dried mango with a creamy lactic edge that recalls yogurt, and the palate moves through agave, restrained dried fruit, a touch of leather and a quiet finish of smoke. Bottled at 45%.
