Goslings Black Seal Rum

Goslings Black Seal is Bermuda's signature dark rum, a blend of pot and column molasses spirit aged around three years and finished darker still. It is openly a sweetened rum, and that sweetness is part of its identity rather than something to gloss over, the engine behind its bold colour and rich flavour.

The profile is built for mixing. The nose is molasses, spice, vanilla and liquorice, the palate brings molasses, liquorice, clove and coffee, and the finish turns spicy and warm with burnt sugar. There is a chocolatey, full mouthfeel that some enjoy neat over ice, but its real home is the Dark and Stormy, the ginger beer highball it was practically made for, or a simple cola. Honest about what it is, this is an affordable, sweet, mixer focused dark rum, strong on character for the price and best judged as a cocktail workhorse.
