Description
Golden Horse Musashi is one of several domestic blend releases produced under the Toa Shuzo label from Hanyu, the Saitama Prefecture distillery that closed in 2000. Like its stablemates in the Golden Horse line, this 720ml expression was destined for the Japanese home market and carries no age statement.
Built on Ex-Bourbon cask maturation, it sits in the lighter, approachable style that defined Toa Shuzo's commercial blending before Ichiro Akuto rescued the remaining single malt casks and launched the now celebrated Ichiro's Malt bottlings. Where those releases have become collector touchstones, the Golden Horse blends stand as a quieter record of everyday whisky production at the Hanyu site.
